Bone Stock Evo X Mr +46whp!
Bone Stock Evo X Mr +46whp!
I had a bone stock Evo X MR come in today for some baseline pulls. I was interested to see what I can get out of this stock car with 23psi and some fuel tuning. I also added a few degrees of timing in a few areas to smooth the graph out. Surely there was plenty of more power to be made with more boost, timing, and mivec advance but the customer only wanted 3 pulls so here is what we wound up with. Not too shabby at all and pulls hard and clean to 7,000rpm.
Note: Stock Mivec Maps, 23psi, a few degrees of timing in certain areas for smoothing.
Mods:
STOCK
Tune Software:
ECUFLASH

I could have pulled the baseline run to 7,000 but felt that it was not necessary. We can all judge that it would be around 150whp. Gains are incredible.

I would have liked some more seat time in this car but due to the customer's request I had to cut it short with only 3 pulls.
Gains:
+40whp/40wtq @ 5,252rpm
+70whp/100wtq @ 6,500rpm
+80whp/65wtq @ 7,000rpm
For a bone stock car the gains are amazing and the car pulls hard and smooth.
The customer will be back in a few weeks for some bolt-ons and a re-tune. Before we modify the car, I will be tuning the car to it's fullest potential bone stock to see just how much I can squeeze out of it.

off topic question: does ecuflash have 2 step/launch control and is it good to use there program for a daily drivin all year long car? I heard some programs cant adjust themselves in different weather conditions... thats just what i heard ...

Yes, ecuflash has 2step/launch control. Ecuflash has been the best stock ecu engine management for the lancer evolution. You will have no worries
Pete has fun tunning these new MRs looks like a kid in a candy store when he is at work if toy bring your evo x Mr down there you will see what i mean
if you have a MR and felt your car could not be tunned think again

There won't be many differences in the near future. Ecuflash is always updated with new patches/functions, etc.
The difference was that ecutek had a logging software which monitors knock etc.
Evoscan, which is the logging software for ecuflash now has knock logging etc.
In my opinion, the only difference between ecutek and ecuflash is the expensive liscense fee which will in most cases double the cost of a custom tune.
Ecuflash works great and I will continue to use it

I enjoy my work everyday. Thanks, hope to meet you soon.
Thank You. I wish I had more time to play with some timing/mivec to see what I could really gain.
please take no offense but you are the only shop that seems to knit-pick our(DG Motor's) results/contributions to this community. Whether our air/fuel is too lean/too rich or our baselines are not in par with your dyno/tuning characteristics and you are located on the other side of the country. Sorry for coming off a little funny but I feel I am being rubbed the wrong way. On a side note, thank you for showing interest in our threads and contributing to our on going investigations into the evo x ecu and power findings.

So when I see data that is different than other data I ask questions.
It's just interesting to see a stock 10 with mid 11 to high 10 afrs because there is a ton of data out there, including what I have collected, that show them in the mid 9's, low 10's AFR wise.
