DG Motors: 3 Tuned Evo X's

Just finished up tuning 3 different evo x gsr's with different mods.

All these evo x's were baselined!

First up we have an evo x with:

Ets Intake

Everything else stock

Note:
Stock Ecu Boost Control is maxed out which will contribute to the peak boost and slight creeping up before boost tapers back down.

Dyno Sheet:

Gains:

+80wtq/55whp 3,800rpm

+80wtq/80whp 5,252rpm

+80wtq/95whp 6,000rpm

Customer has an ams test-pipe and catback on order. I believe a catback and test-pipe will improve 6,000rpm and up due to relieving all the extra back pressure.

Next up we have Jeremy's evo x. This car is equipped with a Buschur True Dual Catback exhaust and a Buschur Intake.

Very strong car and a great power band. 25psi and this thing made nice linear power to 7,000rpm.

Note:

Tuned on stock ecu controlled boost with stock boost pills in place!

Dyno Sheet:

Gains:

+70wtq/55whp @ 3,750rpm

+60wtq/60whp @ 5,252rpm

+50wtq/55whp @ 7,000rpm

This car does hold nice smooth power to 7,000rpm. Sorry that the map is not scaled to 7,000rpm!

Lastly we have another evo X Gsr with a Megan Racing Single Drift TBE.

This exhaust is real nice. Affordable, and made really nice power!

Stock ecu controlled boost.

Gains:

+100whp/100wtq @ 4,100rpm

+120whp/120wtq @ 5,252rpm

+170whp/130wtq @ 7,000rpm!

in for vids.

How come the car with only exhaust makes the most power out of all three? I know all cars are different, but are there any other factors?

Looks like the baseline of that car showed it was losing HP as it passed 5000 rpms which means it really didn't like the exhaust alone or factory tune. I'm assuming it was breaking up and misfiring to run that poorly? Nice turn around story with the tuning though!

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

This particular car surprised all of us as it did baseline low. Yes, this car was also breaking up due to being extremely rich(low 9 a/f's). This car happened to pick up the most power since it did have a full tbe compared to every other car we tuned today.

The other two cars only had:

1. Catback/Intake

2. Intake

The stock intake unit works very well when tuned properly amongst other mods from the factory. I can note now that a Full Tbe equipped evo x will make more power with the proper tuning than another evo x with just a Catback, Intake or Both!

Getting rid of the stock cat will greatly reduce backpressure and add a good 10-15whp right of the bat with no tuning.

The other cars still had the stock cat in place. A nice free flowing full tbe will yield the best power gains over another evo x with a catback, intake or both as we found out yesterday.
