Wow...I need to stick my wideband on my stock X and see what's up with it. I haven't wanted to mess with the tune to avoid risking warranty issues, but that doesn't even look healthy for the car.

what are the long term effects of a tune? If I plan on keeping my evo X for at least 5 years / 70k miles will the powertrain and engine have excessive wear from the added performance of a tune? The car is a DD with some spirited driving on the weekends when I have time. No tracking, no heavy mods, just a filter and probably a catback.

anytime you add hp and torque it will add stress to the driveline etc, but as you mention if you are just doing some occasional spirited driving i would think you would be fine plus running pig rich like this car did from the factory is probably not the best thing over time.

The running 'pig rich' is to help the cat live for 100k miles. I think you can expect lower life out of the cat with a leaner tune.

Pretty impressive. Sounds like a good tune is a very big jump for the X.

Catback on (btw that stock catback weighs a TON and sounds like a** compared to the Magnaflow one I put on.) ... waiting on test pipe ... and gauges are getting ordered tomorrow ... but they are gonna have to wait on my a pillar which is who knows how far out since MemphisForce can only make one a day. Too bad.... Sorry its taking so long but my school work comes first and with finals this past week it has been a little hectic ... but this week is a break and Ill be ordering stuff and getting it in hopefully, since I have time to think about things other than dead people for a change.

BTW Mellon we wont have to worry about the half human skeleton in the trunk any more ... I returned that box of death.
