BC 0131 Stage 2 Cam Testing=Good Gains!
We have had a repeat customer/friend who has been coming here since he first purchased his Evo X Gsr.
He wanted to try something different for his camshaft upgrade and opted for the BC Stage 2 camshafts which were affordable and had good gains at the same boost from his previous tune.
Here are the specs of the BC Stage 2 Camshafts for the Evo X:
Duration: 272 Intake 272 Exhaust
Valve Lift: 11.30 Intake 10.64 Exhaust
BC recommends their valve spring/retainer kit but is NOT required.
Here are some pictures of the install:
Stock Cams
Stock Cams out, Arp Head Studs ready to go in for good safe insurance!
Torquing the new arp head studs
Getting the new BC Cams ready for installation
Installing the new BC Cams
New BC Cams in place
Buttoning everything back up!
Now onto the dyno sheet:
Gains @ same boost (27/28psi) 93 Octane (1.0CF):
+20whp/20wtq @ 4,400rpm
+15whp/15wtq @ 5,252rpm
+20whp/20wtq @ 6,500rpm
+25whp/25wtq @ 7,000rpm
Good solid cams in our opinion!

Overall I think these are great cams, lopey idle when tuned properly, and make great power.
Jimmy's Current Mod List:
Brian Crower stage 2 cams
Forge wga
Megan racing TBE
Harmon motive UICP
K&N Cone filter
AEM tru boost/AEM wideband
Ecuflash tune by DG
27/28psi 93 Octane
Enjoy the car Jimmy!

I would like to thank the DG crew for doing a flawless install on my cams! I chose one shop and stuck with them and been getting great results ever since. My car idles like a race car but once you get going it is smooth as hell hahah this is the result of a excellent install and tune. As for the car it never had many mods but seems to just put down some serious numbers and runs hard on the street! This is all done still on stock fmic and intake. Pete it was 26psi by the way As for the cams they made power throught the powerband and is limited by the stock turbo. The car finally pulls to redline! I went with the crowers due to price and specs. I guess I am the only one who has ever posted about these cams I want to thank Chris at map performance for the great price and service! Next will be a fmic, E-85 Or meth, clutch! After that we will dip into a bigger turbo For now I'm very happy with the results and service from DG and will keep on going to them as long as I can! If you look at my graph it makes only 10 peak but makes like 20 in the midrange and 25 torque all on a pound less boost than last time! This is all done a 1.0 correction and no meth or racegas! I think I'm a happy customer couldn't do it without you guys thanks! Oh and Eric thanks for watching! lol

Thanks Jimmy, your an awesome customer/friend. Your car has been a true warrior from day one from Charlie and myself tuning the car countless times with great success.
I am also surprised on how lopey I got these cams to idle with some of my custom mapping. Has the car stalled at all with my settings?
I forgot to mention on my opening post that we did make 356whp but that was due to a 33/34psi spike and honestly felt was too dangerous to even consider letting fly on 93 Octane.
IMHO I would save your cash and put it toward a larger turbo or turbo kit from now on. Meth or an E-85 conversion would be a waste on a stock evo x turbo since the turbo is literally out of breath in your current setup/tune and given psi.
-Blouch 2.0, 1,000c.c injectors, fuel pump, and 28-30psi will net you 400whp on pump gas all day long.
-Ets 3586 Turbo Kit 1,000cc injectors, fuel pump, clutch will net you 500whp on pump with 25/26psi all day long.
It all comes down to your budget and how far you want to take your already beast of a stock turbo evo x!
Enjoy!

Hah, thanks...I can hold my own at 5'7 175....
Without being interrupted I can get this job done without head studs in 2 hours. Head studs adds an hour and can take even longer if you don't have special tools. It takes me 4 hours on a normal day with the phone ringing, etc etc...
