Well, i am good at estimating i guess

Thanks for sharing the info, its good to know the correction factors used. It helps people who understand them figure things out.

Thanks again, still good power though

I can vouch for Chris and Nolimit being honorable with regards to how they conduct themselves in business and the operation of their dyno. The correction factor is always consistent for repeatable results that can be compared over long periods of time.

Both Nolimit motorsports and The Shop in ct have dyno dynamics brand dynos. There hasn't been much debate over the results at these 2 locations.

The integrity of the dyno operators stands to be more important then the brand name of the dyno.

Keep up the great work Nolimit!!!

No problem, if you ever see a dyno sheet from us its always 1.15 no matter what.

I can safely say that Murlo and I were never questioning the dyno operator. It's just nice to know whether your local tuner and your combo of parts is producing comparable output.

Our local DD reads lower than most DD at 1.0cf, so it can be challenging when eyeballing numbers from other dynos. afaik a stock turbo X hasn't broke into the 360's on it...e85/cams/the works.

My car holds 19 with an EBCS but fiddling with the stock turbo probably isn't even worth the cost of a re-tune. I'd recommend plotting your turbo upgrade instead. Join the crowd over on the BBK thread.

Thats why im doing things in like stages i guess youd call it....I wanna get all the bolts on done which i pretty much now have minus LIC but im not too worried about that, than throw in a turbo with some meth or a small shot of nitrous not sure which route I wanna go. Any turbos out there yet with stock like spool capable of say 450-500 hp?

Haven't heard of anyone using nitrous.

That's the holy grail, so no. As I previously mentioned, everyone has their eyes on the BBK since it's due to be released in a few weeks. The BBK on the 8/9's is generally considered the ideal combination of stock turbo size, spool, and power so there's high expectations.

There was a guy on this site who tested nitrous on the Evo and it took him like a 200 shot or 250 shot to finally blow the motor, If i only ran a 50 shot I think id be fine. Ill wait to see some results on the BBK from people before I make any type of leap.

yes...my car made 424 whp on 93 pump with an FP Red.

If you add valve springs/retainers, ARP headstuds/rod bolts, better wastegate actuator and retune my car...it is capable of 450-470whp on 93 pump at like 31 psi and a higher redline.

and the FP red spools quick. Mine is at full boost and almost 400lbs of torque at 4000 rpms

just my .02

It all comes down to how you define "stock like spool." Do you mean of an untuned X or a tuned car? The Red and Dom are around 4k but a tuned stock turbo hits full boost at 3k.

What will be interesting is to see if a BBK on a Steedspeed manifold can hit full boost meaningfully below 4000. Each of them are reputed to lower the number by a couple hundred rpm.

In the end with a manifold and maybe some porting & polishing I want a turbo thats going to hit full boost by the 3500 range, I think that wouldbe ideal for the street and still have some up top power.
