FPred + 91 + minor mods...

This car came back in for a quick retune after installing some additional breathing mods.

This is a great before/after study to show how proper flow mods can really help power/spool/response.

Originally this car was built to be super super stealth. Read more about that here:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-10-fpred.html

After adding an aftermarket catback, FMIC and UICP it came back in to get retuned.

2008 Evo 10

Mods:

RRE stealth catback (was stock catback with modded internals before)
AMS downpipe
GST testpipe
FPred @ 24.5psi across
AMS FMIC
Nisei UICP
DW 1000cc injectors
Drop-in air filter with stock airbox
GST Boost pill
GST Custom dyno tune (ecuflash)
91 oct

Great gains everywhere. Notice how much better the car spools now with it uncorked. This is a track car so the tune is a tad tamer than a normal street tune.

This Evo 10 is now making inline with what FPreds make on Evo 8/9's on our dyno but with less mods then the Evo 8/9's (which would have cams, intake, etc).

358 whp / 305 wtq

Boost plot:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For reference with our dyno:

Stock 03/04 evo = 190-210whp

Stock 05 evo = 210-215whp

Stock 06 evo = 220-230whp

Stock 08 evo = 215-230whp

Stock 09 Ralliart = 190-199whp

Nice work as always Bryan. Thanks for providing a good amount of information in all of your threads. It eliminates a lot of questions and keeps the thread on topic. Thanks for sharing.

awesome comparo! Would have been really cool to see this on the stock FMIC, I imagine the biggest gains are from the catback. FMIC is a must though if this thing sees track time!

Have a boost plot? 24.5psi is similar to the recent DOM2 thread (at 25). I'm wondering what RPM it hits 24.5 at.

I'm sure you tuned alot of fp reds so far....what is your thoughts on this turbo is it worth it? I'm debating on maxing out stock turbo or going with a red what do you think? I have cams so the red should shine!

Yeah and the Dom2 seems to hold torque a little better as well...

OT junk removed.
If you want to comment on the stealth Red on 91 octane, please post.

How much different would the HP and Torque numbers be if this was not a track car?

Probably run a little more boost, leaner AFR and more timing. maybe another 15whp overall.

Again, this is inline with what more modified Evo 8/9's with FPreds have done on our dyno.

If you are planning to go E85 or meth then a Red and cranking the psi up to 30+ is the way to go. Without better fuel then you can't run the psi. Without the high boost the Red will give you more lag than a DOM and no additional benefit, as the boost graphs show.

If you're going to run pump then it seems to me that the DOM is the better choice. I'm personally waiting to see some graphs for the BBK next month. If they get it right then it'll obsolete the other stock-sized turbos on the X, imo.
