E85 bolt-on tune @ AMS

Baseline: 336hp/307tq (go me!)
Final: 338hp/354tq

NOW, before we get into the whole "these numbers are low" discussion, a little food for thought: AMS not-so-recently switched to a Mustang dyno from a DynoJet. According to Chris, the Mustang reads almost exactly 8% lower on several cars that were tested back to back. Factoring this 8% in gives us 365hp/382tq. I'm not much of one for numbers on a dynosheet, so I will let the forthcoming track times do the talking But, I'm just getting this out of the way before anyone lets me know my numbers are "low" for the mods.

edit: sorry the dynosheet is a bit difficult to read since the copier at work apparently only scans in B&W, but you should be able to figure it out...

MODS:
FIC 1100cc injectors
BlaqOps Walbro kit
Artisan intake with AMSOIL filter
Artisan Turboback w/HFC (includes hotside exhaust housing/downpipe)
Artisan UICP (hot side)
Buschur LICP (cold side)
GM 3 port
Crushed stock BOV
TephraMod v1 and a few other tephra-inspired ecu tweaks+fixes
AMSOIL fluids in engine, transmission, center diff, rear diff (both torque transfer and gear)
and nothing else I can remember at this point... that should be all that matters.

let the comments begin!

Nice numbers. You don't have an Intake or o2/downpipe?

ah yeah forgot the intake, but the o2/downpipe is part of the turboback. I'll edit to correct this. thanks for the compliment!

thanks for the kind words!

we were experiencing some issues with the wastegate actuator not being able to hold as much as it should and some issues with boost oscillation... I'll likely try upping the arm preload and see what that does, otherwise it will get replaced with an upgraded unit or perhaps a new OE one.

only other thing I'd consider doing is adding a FMIC when I have a little spare $$

Hey derek,

its andrew, i was there when this was dyno'd, sick X none the less makes me like the X's even more seeing yours and the sheet looks great compared to the base line picked up some nice power, should definatly get that FMIC im sure the stocker is holding you back some. All in all im sure your very happy with your tune and nice meeting ya up at AMS. Long story short on my end we ran into some issues.. lol so i had to reschedule my dyno since they closed up.

sweet ride man!

maybe see you around some track events or something if i ever get my car done

hey man, thanks for the kind words! nice talking with you too. sorry to hear you didn't get your stuff straightened out, but I'm confident you will in no time. I'll keep an eye out for your dyno results thread!

I've been wondering if there was anyone out there running E85 with basic bolt-ons. I'm considering going that route myself. Looks like it's certainly doable and will bring some nice gains.

as far as I'm concerned, basic boltons make the most sense! the only thing I would consider changing about my setup (besides the aforementioned FMIC) is the eventual addition of some larger stock-framed turbo (FPred, etc). it's just silly how the stock turbo runs out of steam up top... would love to have some more area under that power band that simply isn't possible with the stock turbo.
