RRE tune results - EVO X SE

Got my 2010 SE tuned by Mike W. at Road Race Engineering on Friday night. I am very happy with the results, considering the basic mods I have and keeping it a fun DD.

For those not in the know, the SE is basically a GSR with an SST in it. Along with a few other MR goodies.

RRE uses a Dynapack.
Ended up with about 302hp/312ft.lbs on average. Got as high as 320 torque, and 310hp on different pulls.

Mods:
K&N Drop In
COBB Inlet pipe
APT Upper IC Pipe
Magnaflow Cat Back
Boost Pill (by RRE)

Weather:
55 degrees/raining outside the shop

Here is a vid of one of the pulls for those people that like to see that stuff...

Looks like a downpipe and a high flow cat would have netted me some extra numbers... but for a DD I am happy with it. For now!* O0

I could see +20whp combined being realistic.

A HFC definitely seems to make a lot more sense for CA residents. The 100-cell Mil.Spec is definitely the one I'd buy, but there are plenty of 200-cells on the market that seem to be fairly popular (Cobb, ETS, AMS, etc.).

Nice numbers! An SRI, test pipe, and downpipe should do you very nicely on netting a little more gain. : )

SST is not your fathers slush box, mod for mod, when tuned correctly, SST will output same power as GSR.

It feels great. Mike W was actually a bit impressed with how high the SE power was when we ran the baseline. Other MR's with the same bolt ons were typically about 10hp lower than what mine baselines at. He figured it was the 2010 ECU flash our SE's come with off the lot.

If you look at the torque curve (or spike really) the seat of my pants feel of take off up at 3K rpm is amazing. Then the hp kicks over and it feels strong all the way to the top. It's basically a different car now.... the one I always wanted.

I think this is probably psychological... but the SST feels stronger at shifts even in Normal mode also. I don't know if the clutch packs have to actuate and clamp faster because of the extra HP now, or if it's just in my head and I am just pushing it harder because it's so damn fun now. haha

What engine management system were you tuning with? ...or was this a pull to determine the bolt-on gains? Either way looks good!

Just curious, as I'm considering some upgrades for my SE.

Road Race Engineering did the tuning. I believe they use the open source tuner software that everyone else uses.

He did like 10 or so pulls, not just one. Changing parameters each time to squeeze the most usable hp & tq out.

Basically, the tune netted me 40+ in both HP and TQ. Well worth the price.
