Definitely could, but why? If it makes good power and isnt gonna hurt anything at the particular A/F ratio, why push it harder. I think of it as a little extra cooling for some extra safety.

It is an Ashcroft "Type G2"... Pressure range of -14.7/45psig

I believe this particular sensor could be more accurate if it were setup differently than it was. I made some changes and we'll see if its more accurate next time I get the EVO on the dyno. If it doesnt get any better, I have a GM 4 bar at home that I can swap to
