I'll get all the details tomorrow. When I left it was hitting 29psi and he said it was running a bit lean, so he might've adjusted the boost or something else, I dunno. I'll post more info when I find out.

Just picked up the car. Tuner said he tuned it at 27psi. So its down from what I had it at. I tried out the launch mode pulled awesome. No codes, everything seems pretty good so far. Not too bad.

I just tuned a 2008 MR to 293/309 on STM's Mustang dyno (~318/335 DynoJet) at 25 psi with a slight 1-2 psi boost spike and already felt the clutch packs were going to get angry if boost was allowed to go higher in the 3500-4500 rpm range. I could even have them run another 1* timing but there is a point where power starts effecting reliability on the SST driveline. Should still be good for 110 mph trapspeeds with just exhaust and air filter.

What AFR are you running and does the SST have any cooling mods done to it?

My take is that the boost is only going to be there from 3500-5000 rpm anyways on the stock turbo, and once you start paddling the gears, you will be in the 5500-7500 rpm range anyways, so the extra boost won't really matter besides having the chance to pop the drivetrain or vent the block. Yes when it holds the torque hit "feels good" but you have to weigh the good and bad with that and decide how much is worth it.

Nothing done to the tranny. All mods listed. I went out last night with a friend and his 02 m5 with mods. We ran a couple 3rd gear pulls and a few 1st gear rolls and I ate him up and pulled very nicely.

I'm gonna wait for a nice cold front to roll in and take it over to Bradenton and see what times I can get. It definitely feels like it pulls more in the top end. Best run before my latest tune was 12.6 @ 107.8.

A/f is 11.7-11.9

Impressive numbers. Not famaliar with evo x but isn't 29 & 30 psi kinda high for stock?

Yea, which is probably why the tuner lowered it to 27psi, he found it to be it's sweet spot and I must say the car is still running great. I plan on running it on Saturday and I'm hoping for a faster time than 12.6 this time. I'll post the results.

This much torque on a MR? You're going to blow that SST Keep it conservative till you get some support. Torque on this is ginormous

Took it back out to the track and got a slighty better time. I think I'm getting a hold of launching this thing. I was cutting 1.8 60ft times all night and my best run was 12.5@108mph. Still running the same exact mods and at 27psi. I think I'm really close to the limits for the mods I have. I will be pushing this on race gas in a few weeks. I'm hoping for an 11.9999999999999999, but I'll settle if it's better than 12.5. I'll post up after I run it.

PS: Oh and no over heating problems or codes or issues of any kind.

Are you going to be at the BBQ this weekend in Clearwater? I'd like to see what an MR with this amount of power feels like.

stories like i'm hearing from you guys with the MR's tranny is why when I get my evo it will get a GSR. just seems the MR tranny is a pain if u plan on doing anthing sides an intake or exhaust. by a pain i mean something that holds people back

Well, I too drive the MR, and I understand people's skepticism over this "new" technology, but where is the empirical evidence to support either school of thought (others, ones who have pulled the stock clutches when upgrading to ssp packs, say they essentially look new)?

Just take it slow when adding more power, specifically TQ, and just see how it feels. You drive it everyday, see what she's telling ya!

Well some ppl on this board read and some other dont. The sst, for me at least, has been a challenge. From what i have done and seen on my car i love the tranny and whatever issues come in the future will be the result of what i am trying to achieve. After going through some minor speed bumps and with the amount of minimal mods i have done to this car, I have, in my opinon succeeded what i wanted.

When I called ams and told them I was running 12.7's with their mods and they told me that sounded about right, i called bs. My friend tuned the car more and more and we got better times.

Best thing about this sst tranny is that its damn consistent.

I just ran the car last night and best run was 12.4 @107mph on pump gas 93 oct. We added some 100 octane, 2 galllons with less than 1/4 of 93 and began tuning, and lets just say the car was taking it. Best run all night was 12.3@110mph and THERE was more room to play, unfortuntely the track closed early because oil leaked on the track from a previous car and it was going to take way longer than the track was going to be open.

12.3@110 mph is not bad for having just intake, test pipe, and exhaust some race gas and a nice tune with room to improve.

Hell i had more mods in my gst and never saw an 11s.

All in all, the sst is complicated but with some patients and learning things can happen. Im excited to see what i can do once i upgrade the turbo and other things on this stock tranny. I'll keep you all posted.
