I tried the controller and did not see the benefit as this is a track only car so it was removed... The pump is very noisy at idle, on track you can't hear it... If I were to build a street car I’d have to come up with something much quieter…

That's what the pump controller is for..... street cars. I believe it quiets the pump down significantly at idle. Yours is running full speed at idle right?
