2.3 PTE 6765....628 whp

Got tuned by the guys at MAP. Decided to remove the AEM Series 2 and go back to the stock ecu. The car did not idle at all on the AEM and with the Tilton Triple Disc this made the car a PITA *** to drive.

The car drives good , idles much better than before. Pretty consistant A/F during cruise and WOT.

The car is Laggy as to be expected but when it spools in is smooth and pulls hard.

I requested a quote from MAP to go to a Darton sleeved stroker/overbore this winter and may go to either a 62/66 or upgrade the 67/65 to the new CEA 66 wheel.

I have some pretty serious DTC trouble to get into that MAP couldnt take care of. ABS...ASC...AWC....CEL.....all are throwing trouble. I am ordering the openport 2.0 and will use evoscan and ecuflash. This will be a big learning curve for me but should be fun.

This gumps old car right?

Glad you are running! You should head out to the Mitsu cookout at the end of August, I want to see this thing. Maybe have a fun run as I am around that same power level now

Yah , Gumps old car

Where is the shootout?

I may be heading down that way sooner than later if I cant get some of the DTC issues cleared up. There isnt a freaking mitsu dealer north of the cities anymore so if I cant straighten it out myself I will be headed down there.

Is there a dealer down there you recommend Murlo?

On the fun run , that would be good to see where the cars are at. I'm sure you would pull on me as I dont make any power down low and am down some tq compared to your numbers.

I kind of mentioned to Gump after I bought the car from him that I would pick up the torch where his wallet left off and continue trying to make this the worlds most powerful Evo X so we will see what this winter brings. I am currently turboing my snowmobile with a new BW Series EFR and these turbos are really impressive. Maybe the X needs the big EFR to crack 1000 at the wheels

The COOKOUT, not "shootout" lol is in Rogers, MN. Go to Mitsustyle.com for more info. That is the local mitsu board for us MN'ers. Make a post there and you can get all the info about dealers you need. I haven't been to a dealer in years man, so I don't have a good recommendation.

What DTC's you have? Just curious what city you in when you say north the cities? Or county or something if you don't want to say lol.

For 1000whp the 6765 should get you close if you run like 40psi however that number is uncharted territory. I wouldn't run the EFR stuff personally. Don't test dummy that (that is assuming you can even get one lol). Maybe the HTA3794 will get you there, not sure. Or you might be stuck with like a GT40 something.

You will need 40+psi though I am guessing!

Good luck!

I'm up on the Iron Range. I have nothing to read the DTC's currently. Looking at getting the Tactrix stuff and Evoscan. The Map guys said there is a Steering Angle Sensor code and an Yaw Rate Sensor code but they couldnt do anything about it. I just checked the ATF Fluid in the trunk and that was way low , like a 1/3rd of a quart low so I filled that. Also have ABS dumby light and Check Engine Light and Periodic Service light.

I had swift springs installed and an alignment done so maybe something got messed up then like a wheel sensor or something

Its like a freaking Christmas tree when I turn on the car lol.

I'll check out the board with the MN guys and if I'm off work I'll come check out the cookout.

Here is the previous dyno sheet from when the car was running on the AEM Standalone.

The new tune appears to not make power in lower rpms like the old tune and it is noticeable when driving the car. It doesnt hit down in the 4- 5k rpm range like the previous tune.

Is there any reason why the AEM setup would make better power down low or is this just the difference between tuners.

The MAP tune is smooth and AFR's are spot on so I'm not dissapointed with it but it is a little bit of a bummer to give up anything in the lower rpm's especially when running such a laggy turbo to start with.

Maybe you just gained weight and the engine is working that much harder to haul you around?

Nobody told me the evo was not the car for a portly figured man to drive. I have to put a piece of plywood on the recarros because I cant fit my *** between the bolsters

Seriously though , dont get me kicked off the evo forums like you did the corvette forums. I have a tough time sleeping at night knowing I'm banned for life over there lol
