The case has never been cracked on the car. No clutch packs etc...

65K on the tranny and the Stage 1 engine has allowed me to run the **** out of the Garrett GTX3071r with a 0.73 AR

Finally have a Dynojet graph on race tune...

I'm very pleased with the results and the work done by Kaizen's tuner Rob and Steve the lead Tech.

Cheers,
HAZMAT

i have a really good chance tog et a gtx3071r for the X but im sort of still stuck on the fence as the mhi is also a good buy. the lagg at a given rpm point isnt an issue for me as ive been told the gtx, while it does make power slightly later(300-400 rpm) the rate at which it gets there is alot faster than a jb turbo thanks to the wheel and the BB chra. is this true? i see some of you guys are tapering up top, can these things not just push any more boost up top or are you tapering because of fuel?

you will want to consider 3576r or 3582r if you want more top end. are you running stock block with stock sst? if so 3576r might be the better choise out of all.
MHI already proved itself to be a good turbo upgrade for the x, however i still think its too small and its not a BB turbo.

Tuners have to keep cylinder pressures in check. They can do that by pulling boost or timing. My tuner pulled boost.

Think about what you are going to use the car for before picking a turbo. Why would you want a turbo that can give you 30 psi at 8,500 rpms when the SST limits this? The GTX3071 is a good choice if you are keep the stock engine and SST. Slightly more lag, better transient response and power climbs to 7,500 rpms. All that said, your tune is the most important part of the build.

My 3071 has the .73 AR. I get 33lbs of peak boost at 4k it then falls off
As it nears 7500rpms. Its a smaller responsive Turbo like the MHI. You can only push so much thru that size Turbo in a stock frame setup. A T3 setup is another story. Once the 3071 is spinning I have no lag issues unless my RPMs drop below 3k...HTH

i already was set on the gtx3071r and got it like 2 days ago. as far as numbers, the gtx with right support can hit 500 pretty easily. i do alot of canyon stuff and will be doing some RTA events in a few months hopefully. but my setup is different from others because it is a prototype package that im testing for my business. if all goes well we will be selling it as a power package
