I wasn't there to see the AFR and I didn't get that emailed to me. Time to expedite this install then.

Where did you install your wideband sensor?
The reason I asked is because I just found out the exhaust manifold is not good for the life of UEGO sensor. I wanted to monitor cylinders 3 & 4 specifically. Guess I'll need an EGT for this. I'll install bung for UEGO on DP.

I just read that UEGO on tail pipe is not accurate on catted cars
That is where it was hooked up for my tune. Hopefully, inaccurate making tune run richer.

question for you hopefully i dont get flamed for this one from the online trolls but was wondering what made you pick this manifold vs the others out there that are stock replacements. this one is consideriably cheaper then the others at 500 or so and the other start off around 800+... in your research they gave the same performance or? slightlyu lower?

It's a valid question that I get asked quite a bit. The answer is I wanted to retain the oem heat shield, that was probably the main. Aside from that I liked the price (I got in on the introductory price when it first came out ), how robust it is, and the larger runners.

Only issue with the MAP manifold that I can see is it's a fairly popular item so they're always on back order.

MAP's manifold looks like fp. Wonder if they're the same with different label.

I have the FP cast manifold on my IX. It's different than MAP's cast manifold for the X. FP is cast iron and MAP's is case stainless steel

I was so tempted to buy the fp exhaust manifold. But I wanted to test my porting skills. I do want to see how much more fp manifold will make but I'll hold off until I get cams and valve springs first.

They ran a special a couple years back where they sold blemished manifolds for like $150 shipped or something. It performed just like a non blemished one but it had some discoloring or something. I didn't care as once it gets some heat in it it'll start to change color anyways.

Can't beat that deal! Parts to port myself was that much! Dremmel, burr bits, drill, honing bits, electricity, and my time far exceeded $150. And in the end, I don't get an extra manifold.

Yup. But I am a DIYer, so it was more of a challenge than simply bolting on for me.

I can appreciate that, I'm a DIY'r myself. But I also appreciate parts that are more aesthetically pleasing to the eye plus I took out the hood vent, so you just see the FP manifold and the FP logo when you look through the hood mesh

Believe it or not, I installed blue coolant lines to distract people from noticing my HTA71. I even painted my Injen pipes dull black to get rid of the bling.
