Shock Sensor?

Not sure if this has been discussed, but does the factory theft detorant come with a shock sensor, and if not is there any way to install one? I don't want to purchase an entirely new alarm.

from what i have read in the owners manual the security system is very basic. just your typical door and hood/trunk sensors. As well as the engine imobiliser. Besides that there is nothing else. I know compustar does the shock sensor stuff, but its a whole alarm system

why dont you just go and test it......arm your alarm and then bump the roof or something and see if it goes off.

It can be done... it's tricky.. but I've hooked up an aftermarket shock sensor to a factory alarm.

I wouldn't recommend doing it unless you are capable. Get a professional electrical/car audio installer to tackle it.

Pretty much any factory alarm now a days only protects door pins, hood and truck pins.

Hope this helps,

Nick

Thanks Nick. I installed one on my previous car (2004 RX-8), and was able to do it myself with the help of a wiring diagram. But the sensor unit was from Mazda. I was hoping Mitsubishi would sell them like that as well.

It's in the accessories catelogue that people posted a while ago. Whole series of "sensor" upgrades.
