Need advise: upgrade sound system
I could of selected an MR with the technology package or a base MR like yours. I choose the base MR and added my own stereo. I bought:
1. Last years Pioneer double din dvd/nav AVIC D3. I paid $600 on a closeout and got the bluetooth adapter and ipod connector.
2. Replaced all stock speakers with JL Audio 6 1/2"
3. Added JL Audio 500/1 v2 amp for sub
4. Added JL Audio 10w6 sub in a sealed box.
6. JDM dash kit to install the Pioneer.
Everything looks OEM and sounds incedible. I had the trunk dynomated to get rid of the "boomy/rattly" sound.

Well your not in LA so I can't help you with shops... but don't go to ANY chains... Bestbuy (WORST), Circuit City (better than bestbuy), Radio Shack (people don't know **** there). There should be plenty shops around for stereo. Make sure you check out some of their current works before settling. and if you are going for an expensive sub such as the W7s, you definitely should consider warranty.
and +1 for the 10W7... you will be BLASTED away...
haha I know... I was shopping for a system for my 350Z. Considered all JL. With custom made and painted fiberglass and everything. Came out to be around 1500$ - 2000$ depending on speakers and amps. (without the headunit)
Oh, and you will find that buying W7s on the internet is Much cheaper... Problem is most do not offer warranty with that. I'd just spend a few extra bucks at the shops. Had a friend who blew his W7s in a few months because he bought things cheap online... now his car sounds like a major fart can, and no warranty to fix

what are you crazy? I had one in my evo that damn thing rocked. Plus i had to have a 4 channel amp for my mid's and hi's other wise they would of been drowned out by the bass.
