Question Help with Exhaust decision

OK, Im new here, but just got a new EVO and I'm already in the midst of trying to make a decision between 2 exhaust systems.

Its either a Perrin catback and downpipe or a B&B catback and downpipe. At this point in time, Im planning to keep the factory cat for smell and emissions reasons, but I am going to be putting on extensive modifications otherwise.

I have heard sound clips of both systems and they sound the same, and I dont really think sound clips are a good way to make an exhaust decision anyway.

So, my question to the board is this: For some more flow, better power, and not too much more sound (Im an old fart) which of these systems is the better choice? I would just like a few opinions.

Thanks

JaMa

Stock Turbo:

1) Buschur 2.5" DP $225
2) Buschur Muffler Delete Pipe $160

You're done!

Between the two exhaust I would go with Perrin because they use a straight throw muffler.

I had the B&B and it was chambered. I upgraded to a straight throw muffler and could feel the diffrance.

IMHO

Exactly, this is what I want to know too. Im too old to have a super loud exhaust system... I wont be able to hear what my daughter is saying to me in the back seat. But, I would like to know which ones make the power.

Buschur!

Just sorry I didn't investigate more before I got my TANABE. Have been on the forum for a little while and I can tell you I have seen nothing but praise for his product. Bling-bling POWER!!

I don't know exactly the HP it puts down, but one of the things I like most about my TANABE cat-back is that it is not too much louder than stock. Great sound!

I have the Trust power xtreme II... its throaty with 3" straight thru.. not as loud as if u put it on a subaru but it sounds like a low rumble of thunder.. you wont hear much inside the car..

I'm not sure if u can get it in the US though..

I got about a 15hp boost from this cat back alone...

Love my Perrin. I did not do a before and after dyno, so I have no numbers. However, the butt dyno did notice a harder pull especially up in the higher RPM’s. I also added the cat-delete at the same time.

Not too loud… just low & deep. I did not want to sound like a ricer & it certainly doesn’t.

The B&B is a good choice, it looks really nice, and has a decent sound. The test pipe really doesnt smell at all if you leave recirc on!
