I was at DynoFlash a while back. Al had the RMR Exhasut on Orginally. He then swapped to the Perrin exhaust and lost 10 horsepower on the Dyno. Not sure if this helps or not but good luck!

Ryan,

I thought he made more power? Or more TQ?

But it would not make sence that there would be a large diffrence between to diffrent 3in straight throw exhausts? Unless one had another ristriction in it.

Eric I am not exactly sure whether he gained more torque or not. I am pretty sure he lost HP though. I could be wrong.

Trying to do something maybe next weekend. It's tough now cause it's cold and what not. I don't mind the cold. It would be good to get a meet together since a lot of people will be aorund and back from school. I start a thread in NE in a little bit.

if you want something that makes good amount of power and is close to stock noise go with the AVO . If you want a bit more of power and a straight thrue muffler go with Buschur with either BR muffler or magnaflow.

Isnt it possible to bolt up a 3 inch downpipe and cat back on either side of the stock cat? Thats what I was *planning* to do, at least until I found a plug in CEL fix for this car.

OK, Im new here, but just got a new EVO and I'm already in the midst of trying to make a decision between 2 exhaust systems.

Its either a Perrin catback and downpipe or a B&B catback and downpipe. At this point in time, Im planning to keep the factory cat for smell and emissions reasons, but I am going to be putting on extensive modifications otherwise.

I have heard sound clips of both systems and they sound the same, and I dont really think sound clips are a good way to make an exhaust decision anyway.

So, my question to the board is this: For some more flow, better power, and not too much more sound (Im an old fart) which of these systems is the better choice? I would just like a few opinions.

Thanks

JaMa

How about Hayward & Scott/H&S? It's nice and quiet during cruising and opens up with authority when needs to.

JaMa,

Here is the thing that I have seen first hand on the dyno during Vishnu tuning days. The cars with a 3in downpipe (stock Cat) and 3in cat backs were much more knock prone and very hard to tune. Also made the least amount of power. The reason being was that 3in exhaust into a 2.25 cat would make a blockage in exhaust flow. Hell you would be better off with the stock down pipe or a 2.5 to run with the stock cat. (HKS, Buscher and UR make one FYI). Now if you’re worried about a CEL well don’t mod your car Just kidding! . Perrin’s cat delete comes with a CEL fix or better yet get a good 3in hi-flow cat. It’s better for the environment and your eyes will not tear at every stop light. This car smells like **** with out cats. Also from my understanding a good 3in hi-flow cat only loses about 5 to 6 ponies over a cat delete.

On a side Note is this the same JaMa from Nasioc (old I-Club)?? The guy that had the BPM exhaust and then switched it to the Scooby Sports one???? (If not, never mind)

My Best
Eric

Two things that turn me off about that exhaust. One it looks like who ever made it was drunk off thier ***. 2 it only 2.5 witch is not ideal for a turbo charged car.
