To me the extra emissions is not worth it. I'd consider a high flow cat, but probobly would stick with the stock setup.

THANKS

Thanks all for the Information here... at this point Im still thinking about the Perrin and actually TurboXS' catback as well. Based on a good but brief talk I had with Nathan K this morning, the stock cat is about as good as they get in a factory car. Evidently it flows well, does a good job of cleaning, and is actually a high quality part. In the smog and Haze of Northern Colorado, that is definitely a good thing.

Just for the record, Scoobysports (H&S) is great *performing* stuff but terrible horrible awful to look at. So, so ugly IMO.

hehehehe...

I knew exactly what you were talking about.

Quality, sound and performance is what I'm want on a exhaust and H&S is exactly what I was looking for.

I've got the B&B and LOVE the sound BUT I was thinking about getting the Perrin Muffler cuz its straight through. I wonder if it'll bolt right up and I wonder what type of gains I'm looking at?

Does anybody know what Hi Flow cat can bolt up to the B&B Downpipe and Catback? It bolts up to stock so will the Vishnu Hi flow cat fit?

Erik from what you say it seems like it's worth the hassle. What do you think?

I really like the B&B, the sound is beutifull, Not louder except maybe a tiny bit at idle. But it sounds way better.

Amigoni I'm running an Ultimate Racing 3 inch High Flow cat with the B&B DP and Cat back. It bolts up fine.

Ultimate racing has a 3in highflow cat that works with the downpipe and cat back from B&B. Also RMR does but the Vishnu unit was made just for thier exhaust.

I think it's worth it to have a cat. Cats even highflow work so good and they really don't rob you of to much power.

ANyone has reviews on the Ultimate Racing Exhaust? I know their 3 inch catback is 3 inches all the way though.

Jama,
Did you end up making your decision? I'm an 'old fart' too, trying to make the same decision.

I have the ultimate racing turboback exhaust with testpipe and it's one of the best things i've bought so far. power is "intense". i've been complimented by many people on how subtle and low tone it is at idle and cruise. and when you go lead foot on it it opens up and screams!

weighed the full system when i got it and it's damn light at 28 lbs!

i definitely recommend it!

I havent Sean, but I am leaning to the Perrin just because it meets all my qualifications. I understand it is quite loud and raspy in person due to the lack of a resonator. I may get one anyway and have a stainless lowpass resonator welded in.

The real problem I have with most of the EVO exhaust systems is that they are bullet style and seem to be designed for a much younger buyer. This normally also means that they are loud and obnoxioius, something that totally dosent work for me.

Yeah, I hear ya... Im not in the market to blow the welds on my intake manifold as i engage my two stage naws system either...

A friend of mine, put three borla mufflers on his 951, and still made 400whp @ 1bar... So i know a sleeper exhaust can be had, it just looks like noone makes one yet... I'll drop David Burschur a line and see what he says.... sounds like we both want the same thing.
FYI, this is what I want:
Stock or better noise levels at idle and cruising.
Slightly higher noise levels at WOT.

As I'm writing this, I thought I read an article where Sport Compact car or another mag did an aftermarket muffler test for the evo... i vaguely recall one being quieter than stock...

I am running the Perrin with the cat delete. It's certainly louder than stock, but definitely not what I would call loud (of course loudness is really subjective from my experience). However, I did not want anything that was "too loud" as I hate that ricer type sound. To me this is not that at all. It's more deep and throaty (not tinny at all), which is the way I like it. I'm waaaay to old for loud exhausts, and tend to perfer to keep things stealthy (hence the small wing). It would be nice if it was a bit quieter, but considering how it performs... it's all good!

I am very happy with the Perrin.

Jason
