Where is everyone mounting your radar detector?

Just wanting to see my options... I have to hardwire it... the cable is annoying a hell.

i have mine hardwired through the driver's side A pillar and sitting in the upper corner of the windshield. I can't stand having a cable running across my dash...

are you guys tucking it below or above the mirror? Just trying to figure out if there is room above the mirror from the dot matrix.

And I assume you're either wiring into the dome light or running a wire down the a pillar to the fuse box?

I used mounting tape on the suction cup mount (with cups removed) to stick it to the black frits. That way, the actual detector extends just below the frits, so the possibility of signal disruption is minimized. Also, the rear detector has a clear view of the back window.

I've mentioned this before, but I ran IGN power from an unused glovebox harness into my unused bluetooth mic wire (in the glovebox). Then I tapped into the bluetooth mic wire in the dome light.

Good luck!

xPRimNT: I've seen your pictures before I've been peeking around the area, trying to determine if there's enough room, but it looks like there is

LilRico: over there you don't get quite as good of coverage as in the middle of the windshield, right?

It goes off like it normally does.... I'm going to test it out and see if it reacts any different when I place it in the middle of the windshield.

Cool, let me know. Putting it over there will annoy the wife less... she's not thrilled as it is.

^ Oh yeah, I forgot you went all out. You got that Cobra one with all the crazy features right?

Anyway, there is more than enough room. Yes, I have mine tucked in really tightly, but that was for personal preference rather than necessity. Just take your radar detector (with the mount on it) and see if it will fit!

Then, when you're all done, take a picture and show us!
