Sound Proofing on an Evo X

Was advise to sound proof the whole car e.g doors, roof, flooring, wheel arch and boot etc. Personally I felt a bit overkill. Any ICE experts care to advise the areas needed to soundproof for the Evo X inorder to achieve good audio sound. 10q

It's going to add extra weight.. makes the car slower and less agile.. at least a little bit.

Sound proofing is for Cadillacs and Lexuses. Evos were meant to be fast, a little bit loud and raw to some extent. That's the whole point - right? But hey that's just my 2 cents.

But if you want it to be quiet.. pad everything metal. Floors, doors, etc.

you can use a foam instead of the butyl. it will add minimal weight. the difference is the foam won't cut down on rattles but does reduce the noise floor.

Talk to Rick @ Rammaudio. He's a pleasure to work with and has no problem answering questions.
