Need advise. Please guidance me as I’m new in this forum.

Please advise if someone had a clue about my problem.

I found some knock sound between the top of engine and cam pulley in my evo6.5 TME.

Did anyone had experience with this knoking sound, like valve knocking their seat.

This is happen when engine warm and hot, at idle rpm.

Please kindly to advise, I’ll appreciate any advise from anyone in this forum.

I have the same thing in my Evo 8. Its when i start the car and it is cold or when it has been sitting for awhile. After i drive it and come back the noise is gone. I asked my tuner if i should be worried since i have cams and i didnt know if they were installed wrong or somthing. He said the its the Hydrolic Lifter and when the car has sat there for along time all the oil runs out of them. So it takes you running the car for the oil to get everywere it needs to be and thats why it stops after you drive the car. Also i noticed after i do a oil change it is not as bad. Now i dont know if any of this is true but it made sense to me so i have let it be. Anymore insite on the problems would be great. AND WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!!

I'll check about regarding your experienced. Yes,maybe I had the same situation because I recently change the oil, and after that I did not use her.
Coz I'm have a new toy, the MR Edition.... ;-)

No problem. If you dont mind let me know what you find out. How are you liking the MR? I dont think i will sell my EVO till maybe the EVO 9 comes out and even then maybe not. I think this evo will be a collectors someday since it was the first one to be brought to the US? Maybe not who knows but at least i can say i got the first Evo to come to the US. HAHA then i can get the 9, 10, 11, haha better get a bigger shop!!

With an oil more fluid at low temp (example 5W50 replacing an 10W50) it is going to nearly disapear but ... 5W is not good for turbo ... so let your lifter sing
