Hi,

Does the satnav you guys have in the US, allow you to enter just a zipcode as a destination?

Over the pond here in the UK, most satnavs I've used allow me to enter just a "postcode" - but with the european MMCS, I have to select a country, then a city, then a street - in sequence. Which is a pretty slow way of doing it.

Also, the maps are all from 2006 - so they're quite outdated.

I was wondering whether your satnav was any better over there in the US ?

 

Nope, our maps are from 2006 as well.

 

Yep our maps are from 06 also....pretty crappy if you ask me. If you buy an 08 or 09 shouldn't you get the maps from those years????
But from what I'm told you can go to the dealer and pay a small price for the updated maps.

We have to enter addresses the same way. Slow.

And updated maps aren't a small fee... more like $200.

And the reason the maps are from 2006 is because it takes forever to get the maps built and compiled.

 

thats crap, it should be free as long as the car has a warranty... good thing these things are starting to sell for under 30K

 

Damn 2006, and $200 for new maps ouch.
