Rockford Amp swap??

Hey guys do you know if this setup wil work??
aftermarket radio
metra harness (Mito-01) Works for eclispe or endevor
Eclipse or Endevor Rockford amp.

Basically, will an eclipse or endevor amp work in our cars?

I don't think it will work. I'm guessing the plugs on the eclipse/endevor amp are different. Also the amp turn-on is done through the CANbus system, which is also going to be different in the eclipse/endevor.

I would just forget the wiring harness and go with an aftermarket amp. Shouldn't be too much more expensive than a factory mitsubishi amplifier. Not plug and play, but not too difficult to wire up.

Not sure here, but I'd have to think the CANbus in the eclipse or endevor is different than the lancer. I mean the metra harness still "tells" the canbus to turn the amp on. And I think it would be a different wire/resistance in a different car. I could be wrong, and everything you asked about could work fine. Just a guess.

Did you find a good deal on an amp or something? I'm just curious as to why you want to use the factory amp when it's still underpowered.

Hey, I hear ya man, I have my D3 sitting in the garage waiting for me to get a new amp. Can't wait to install it! I'm probably going to get the T600-4 amp or if I can get a deal, the RF power 1000 5 channel amp. But i'm upgrading the speakers and sub as well, so you probably may not need this much power.

As for an aftermarket amp, you could use a 4 channel, or a 5 channel, or even get a 2 or mono just for the sub, and run the speakers from the deck. The latter being the least expensive.

I would do a search on here and see what other people have done.

I dont think i can run 8 speakers off the D3. A 5 channel would work but its expensive...plus thats a lot of wiring. haha if i can get an eclipse amp for cheap im just gonna try it out and see if it works

You can easily run 8 speakers from the D3. It's really only 4 speakers w/ tweeters. Just wire them in series at 8ohms. They may already be in series at the factory amp. In fact that might be what I have to do until I have the $ to buy everything. I'm just lazy.

This is series, just imagine one is a tweeter. I've never wired tweeters like that before, but in theory it should work fine.

New question, is there just pos and neg wires going into the sub box? If not, how many wires are there? I haven't pulled it apart yet and don't want to do it for no reason.
