Car Speed Signal Input & rear Gear Signal Input???
I am trying to install my AVIC-F series and I am unsure what wires I should tap into for these? Anyone have an idea? There is nothing in the Scoshe harness for these so I assume I have to find them elsewhere...
EDIT: Found one of them: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...rket-navi.html

The installation manual for the F700 tells you where to get reverse signal for any car. The wire that comes with the deck even has the vampire taps you need already installed.

Do you have SSS package? Or do all MR have SSS? If so, for me it was on the main radio harness, blue with a white stripe. If you have the base radio it may not be there, but with the RF system it's definetly there because the radio has speed volume control. And for reverse, I just ran a wire back to the trunk area and tested until I found the reverse positive wire. I think it was white.

The Car Speed Signal Wire was there.. and I found it. What I was saying "wasn't there" was the instructions for our particular car in the F90BT installation instructions.

It tells you to tap in to the wire for one of the reverse light bulbs. Ie. when those come on, that wire gets +12V, which triggers the head unit then to know the car is in reverse.

Reverse was tricky. I ended up following it from the reverse lights to a spot behind the backseat, just below the rear deck. I think it was a solid white wire that was thicker then most others in the harness. There's probably an easier spot under the dash, but I was stressed and eager to get the damn thing done.

^ You have to take out the backseat cushions. On the left side, about 3 inches below the rear deck will be a thick wire harness. In there will be a thicker gauge solid white wire. That's where I tapped into reverse. There may be better places as mentioned. Good luck.

For the reverse signal, try plug C-311 wire #2. I have NOT tested this myself but looks like it should work. This plug is at the fuse box inside the car, driver side.
If you do try it please report back...
