I felt the same way. That's why I started the thread...to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

Looks like it might be a problem with either the Rockford system or maybe something isn't hooked up (speed sensor wire?) in every Evo and Lancer with the Rockford system

Mine works all the time, on of off, or whether I want it to or not.

IMO the speed sensitive volume has never worked right ever since it came out in the 2007 Outlanders. Is it possible that cars with newer flashes have this feature removed due to complaints? You would know if you had it as you would notice the volume dropping at times for no apparent reason.

Sorry to raise the dead here - but how do you defeat this turd of a "feature". It is ruining the sound system for me.

I have SSS without NAV. I know, RTFM but its in the car and I'm at work thinking about how irritating the feature is...

Mine works, it was actually pretty good when I had the stock exhaust still on the car. 50mph is when I can tell it's getting louder.

I was playing with this last night, and for the first time, I can hear a difference when going 70mph. It doesn't sound like volume to me, but more like EQ. Sounds like some of the frequencies that are drowned out by the road noise, are pushed up a little bit. Otherwise, I've never heard a difference in "volume" overall.

OK I RTFM and you hold the right knob in for a few seconds and then it gives you the option to turn it on/off. I couldn't test it though, I had my kids in the car.
