I bought a monster iCable the other day for $7.00. It's shielded supposedly.

Not to be argumentative, but definitely not 
. There are some cheap ones I picked up from radio shack that are basically two wires with rubber around them. I hate monster (I think they are overpriced usually), but these have a shield of foil around them then the insulation then the rubber on the outside.
