What Amp for stock system?
Yes, well at least for now. I might slowly upgrade my sound system but step 1 is a new AMP.
So what difference are you getting with the RF 4-Channel Amp? How much improvement are you noticing?
I mean it all depends on your budget. I think the Rocksford Fosgate 4-channel amp is a decent price. And go to Amazon to check out some prices because they have some deals on some amps.

Yeah, you could make that work. But, the wiring configuration is going to be a little weird unless you don't plan to run the rear door speakers.
If you can, try to go with a true 5-channel amp. That way you can power the front and rear door speakers with 4 channels and the sub with the 5th dedicated sub channel. Will work best.

So I'm not an Audiophile and I'll need a friend's help on the install... what is the lowest price for a "good" amp for this car? Not really wanting to spend $500, but $300 might be doable. How much of a difference will the average listener notice while in the car? Thanks.

Compared to the stock amp? It's a big difference. Between two low-priced aftermarket amps, the average listener won't notice at all. Click on that link to the Crutchfield site. There is a decent Infinity amp for $350. That will do the trick. If you want something more powerful, the Alpine PDX5 is a really good amp and I think it's on sale. So, that's a really good deal. Or you could look at some other electronics sites for lower prices.

Or, if you really want an amp from the first link I posted in post #2, you can buy a line-in converter. You can usually get them for under $50 at a local car audio store. They aren't great, but they'll get the job done.
Or, you can spend about $300 for a JL Audio CleanSweep which is a really nice product with really strong equalizer functionality. It's a little pricey, but it can make a nice difference.

How do you like the PDX5 with the Clean Sweep? I'm thinking about doing something similar and just wondered how it sounds. The stock system is simply not loud enough. Also did you upgrade the sub?
I personally run an aftermarket monobloc (Rockford) amp off lineouts from the stock amp, and found that with the bass turned down on the headunit and relying on the amp, the stock speakers clean up tremendously and can crank it out quite alright. It's a cheap solution and it was effective for my listening needs (not audiophile). Also swapped the stock sub out for a P3.
