Help me pick a head unit with front USB input!

Hey guys I'm interested in picking up a head unit for my non SSS evo x....I just want a head unit that has the USB input...I'm not looking to run subs or aftermarket amps/speakers....just need something that has USB front input.....I've come across these two head units....let me know what you think

Pioneer DEH-2200UB $129

http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...ers/DEH-2200UB

Alpine CDE-100 $130

http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/cde-100/

Also what install kit do you guys recommend? Scosche or Metra?

and finally one last question...does this video outline everything I need to know when installing a head unit in my car? I just want to make sure there are no other surprises

Thanks in advanced!

Out of those two I would go with the Alpine. If you were going a little higher in the lineup we have had good luck with the Pioneer 4200UB.

I don't mind paying a little bit extra if it "looks" nicer....I believe the 4200UB has prettier letters and display? and about $30 extra?

I just don't want to spend in the $250 range because I know I am not going to use all the added features of a good head unit....like the pre outs and the sat radio....haha

Yes, the 4200 isn't too much more. The main thing you are paying for is the look and the multi-line display vs the cheaper units. If you are using USB MP3 or ipod it is so much easier to read the track information on a bigger display that will show you more than one line at a time.

Scosche all the way. The Metra kit for the 2008+ lancer is by far the worst fitting aftermarket dash kit that I have ever seen period. Most people that make the mistake of purchasing the Metra end up throwing it away and getting a Scosche or JDM.
