Factory iPOD Solution - Anybody try it???

There's apparently a unit which allows you to play and control iPods thru the MMCS headunit. It costs around US$179.99. Has anybody actually installed it? Is it any good?

I want to get one... but would like to see screen shots of how it works first.

But if anybody has feedback on the system... please post your opinions!

The video is for the Australian version of the MMCS, not sure if the American one would work in this instance

Yes it will be part of the Fuse system. Strange that a small countrly like Australia got ipod functionality before the rest of the world.

^^^^ This

I'd be willing to bet that this would require a software upgrade along with the iPod control unit.

Just to be clear... I'm talking about a Mitsubishi add-on part that plugs into your existing MMCS to allow you to control your iPod thru the headunit.

If you notice, that headunit is 100% different than ours. From the software to the buttons on the outside. I doubt we'd be able to use their add-on.

If you're referring to the current add-on, no, it does not have headunit integration with the iPod.

Anything through the AUX will only net you audio / video. It won't give you integration with the iPod. It's the same thing as buying a RCA -> dock connector and connecting through the RCAs in the cubby.

who knows. My guess is yah, it should work... but I don't think anyone has done any comparisons between the two as far as wiring harnesses go. It's quite the gamble. At that point why not just buy a brand new aftermarket headunit that has 10 times the performance, already has iPod integration, great navigation, great hands free, and be done with it?
