cant seem to find what im looking for
hey guys, im new to the evo family, but im not a noob when it comes to how a forum works as ive been a pretty active member of clubrsx.com for the past year. ive searched around the site and cant seem to find the answer im looking for. i have a kenwood ddx512 and i bought the navigation module for it. i know that i need a dash kit and wiring harness, but i want to be able to still use my radio controls on the steering wheel and also my bluetooth controls.. do i need any special wiring, and the unit is already bluetooth capable so will it be a simple plug and play into the harnesses? i had this unit installed in my rsx type s and it was alot simpler because it already didnt have steering controls or bluetooth..thanks for the help guys
i'm not completely sure about the bluetooth but i can 100% say that the steering wheel module for our Lancers/EVO's use the PAC SWI-JACK for what stereo your installing. (Kenwood)
Unfortunately, there is no direct "plug n play" to the PAC harnesses.
I have read somewhere on here that we can use our existing steering controls also to control the bluetooth, but you can't use the existing bluetooth module in the Lancer/EVO.
Aftermarket harness is the only thing that is plug n play to the OEM harness.
That's all i can say as i'm no expert on radios (just yet) i've installed my own Alpine IVA-W505 and had help with my co-workers from CC to directly wire the speakers to an aftermarket amp (this was before the MITO 02 by Metra came out that allows you to use the existing Fosgate Amp)
