Thanks guys, The project, like I mentioned, is only in the planning phases. I plan to actually do it sometime early 2011.

 

I would suggest doing the head unit, or car PC, first, then the amp, then the speakers and sub last. The speakers aren't as bad as people might lead you to believe. Just replacing the head unit will make a pretty big sound difference, ask me how I know.

One other suggestion, keep an eye on craigslist, people are constantly selling a bunch of stereo equipment on there.
