What is this plug on the back of the OEM MMCS stereo?

On the back of the MMCS there is a plug that looks like an S-Video plug to the right of the cooling fan. Does anybody know what this plug is for?

That's what I thought... but the backup cam is a rectangular plug.

My guess would be S-video out for rear-seat video on the Outlander, but the OEM setup for that (#MZ360305EX) already has a separate DVD slot already built-in..

Beats me

well, it's a CD changer BUS plug, but the don't necessarily use them for CD Changers. They can be adapted for different things, but it's without a doubt a CD Changer BUS plug. S-video all has the same pinout, which this doesn't have, plus, there'e no video source in the head unit. Might carry audio from the rear vid system to the head tho.

It could be for some future option, or just leftovers from whatever unit theyre using for the Mits

Picture in OP is an MMCS w/navi and dvd.. so that's a video source that would be useful to route to rear aftermarket monitors. Still looks like a female S-vid port to me (just flip it upside down to compare to OP's original pic)..

This plug is actually S-Video output to SPDIF for adding screens in the rear of the vehicle. The MMCS Unit is not only manufactured for the Lancer but also the Outlander.
