iPhone 4 + factory bluetooth troubles

Wondering if anybody else is having problems pairing their iPhone 4 with the factory bluetooth system? I've tried 10 times, and was successful only once. The bluetooth system forgot the phone (as it does randomly which was the case with my old phone as well) and I can't pair it anymore...

its prob iOS4. I had no probs with my aftermarket radio bluetooth until I updated. I "fix" it by turning the bluetooth off and back on for the phone

Zero issues using and pairing my iPhone 4 with my Evo. Go in and delete all pairings in the car AND phone before trying to pair again.

Also, be a bit more explanatory when you say "I can't pair anymore". Why? Error messages?

Deleted all pairings on both vehicle hands free system and phone. Still doesn't work. I go through the complete process of pairing the phone with the car, and at the end the car's hands free system says "pairing complete." However, the iPhone shows the hands free system as "Not Connected." When I click on the button to get it to connect, it tries for a few seconds and it says "Not Connected."

Interesting... what if, at that point, you turn off the car, turn off them back on bluetooth on the phone, then turn the car on again? Once I'm paired, and I turn the car on, it connects pretty damn fast. I had one issue, now that I think about it, where I tried to use the phone, and no matter what I did, it wouldn't work. I gave up, and the next time I started the car, it worked fine.

IMO, it's the car. If it's not dropping pairings, it's not connecting. I've had several phones with 2 different cars (Lancer & Evo) and the car always acted the same, but each phone was slightly different the way the car acted with it. But I only had that one small issue with the new iphone in my car.

your problem is the iPhone, ditch it.

I'm a hater.

lol @ droid. My buddy just asked me for help with his bluetooth because he said it stopped working in his car after an update to android. Sure enough, nothing works, but when I pair my iphone, no problem.

It's not always the phone.

Mine connects no issue. My old 3G was forgotten once in the 4 months I had it connected. So far so good though

It started connecting again (randomly)...and it has stopped again...now I don't know if it's the problem I (and others) were having before in which the hands free system keeps forgetting devices or if it's the phone itself...
