I recently purchased a used EVO X MR... one of the major issues was that the factory Nav had been stolen out of it. The person i purchased the car from had already gotten a replacement MMCS unit along with an ENTIRE harness. I was just going to use the plugs off this harness and splice them onto the wires that were cut. So as I'm preparing to do this, I begin to see that the colors are not lining up at ALL. I tried to contact the individual I purchased the car from too see if he was sure he got the correct harness... and of course "no answer". I'm pretty good with wires, I've done TOO many radio installs, and now I'm a jet technician, so the wiring isnt really the issue, just need to know what goes where, AND also if I should even waste my time with the parts I have. I had read the Nav upgrade post, and saw the P/N's for the MMCS units that are required, but I cant seem to find them anywhere on the unit itself??? Thanx in advance

 

Check the Sticky post at the top of this section. In the first post the guy lists some of the wire colors and what they are. I don't think he lists every wire, but it might help.

 

Just an update... I got ahold of the previous owner and the nav and harness is out of a Lancer GTS... I took it up to one of my friends and between him and I got about through about 1/2 of the harness. Guess I'll go through the Lancer audio forums... thanx bomb33 for the reply

 

After 11 hours, a trip to the local dealer (for prints) and massive head contusions (from slamming my head against the dash) I successfully wired a MMCS out of a Lancer GTS into my EVO X. Why would the blue wire with the yellow stripe go with the pink wire?? So if you are unlucky enough to have your factory Nav stolen and they cut the harness off, and find a MMCS and harness out of a Lancer (cheaper I'm guessing) It is possible. Unfortunately I didn't make note of wire grouping / matching, but be glad its possible.
