Possible to Install Aftermarket Deck?
Hey all, considering purchasing an evo x. I currently drive a civic and the one thing I would like to carryover is my aftermarket deck. The specific model is the Alpine IDA-X305s. Is it possible to remove the stock deck, and install this in the evo x?
Thanks!
Thanks!

to answer your question yes.
if you get the base gsr without the rockford package you will need a harness and a scosche dash kit.
if u get the one with the RF package you will need a mito-02 from metra, a scosche dash kit.
dont get the metra dash kit its crap.

Update
Just to provide an accurate answer, I have an Alpine ida-X305S head unit and it will not work in a 2013 GSR w/out RF. This was discovered by installation using the Metra 70-7005 wiring harness. I've confirmed that the issue is that the headunit is somehow not compatible with the stock set-up in the Evo X. It will work without any issues on the Evo 8/9. You may be able to get this particular unit to work on the Evo X by installing it with the MITO-02 harness (the harness for the SSS model), but I decided not to pursue this course since my Evo does not have a factory amp.

The only reason for bumping this thread was to provide a clear answer to the topic. I figured it's better to have 1 thread on the same topic vs having 2 separate threads with one saying it should work and the other confirming it doesn't. This causes confusion across the board for users who may miss the other thread.
