Has anybody try hooking up an extra amp to just the rear subwoofer and still keep the stock amp to drive the rest of the speakers?

Sort of ,I hooked up a 2 channel to the stock RF sub. It's actually the only stock speaker left in my car. It's supposedly like a 75 watt per coil at 1.1 ohm. I had to turn my amp gain way down and rewired the coils to a 2 ohm load.

 

How does it sound?

 

It has a nice punch to it no complaints. I've had bigger subs before it does ok.

 

How do you wire 1.1 ohm to 2 ohm?.
