From Single DIN to Double DIN

I'm moving from a single DIN Alpine to a Double DIN pioneer. Do I need to buy one of those double DIN install kits or can I use factory mounting brackets?

I haven't pulled my dash apart yet for an install.. but after reading the install instructions for a few different double-din HUs, they all recommend using the factory ISO brackets from the original stereo.

As for the dash kit.. I think most of them for our car are designed to fit a double-din or single-din (usually with an included insert piece for the single-din).

Are you concerned with how the navigation will be displayed?

Not really. More concerned about how the unit will screw into the dash.

Did you use the OEM NAVI mount brackets with the Scosche? I have a Eclipse AVN6620 with a POS metra dash. I ordered the OEM NAVI mount brackets and just hope it all fits. My stock stereo brackets did not line up the the Scosche dash kit or to the 6620 at all.

Damn well hopefully the factory NAVI brackets fit. If not Ill go down to best buy to see what they have. I really can't wait to take the POS metra kit out and smash it once the Scosche is in my car. Thanks man!
