iPod question always on
iPod question always on
Picked up my new x 4 months ago with navi and for first time tonight i hooked up the iPod due to I have only one and that is in my wife's Audi A5, so took it out and hooked it on the x inside the glove box on top and works fine.
My question is the following!
Do I remove it each time I shut the car off and put back in when start car.
Do I just turn the iPod off and leave in glove box after use and put back on when I want to use.
Or just leave it don't touch it, meaning start car, shut off and don't pay attention, meaning iPod is I guess always on or shuts of when car is off ?.
And does it charge as well on it's own or I have to charge it myself ?.
Reason I'm asking reg third and fourth question is, that on my A5 I just leave it connected. It always charges on it's own and the car battery doesn't drain due to I guess it shuts off and goes on when ever I start car or shut it off.
But when I had my WRX i always had to start the iPod and shut it of manually due to when I shut off the car iPod was on and car battery obviously would drain if I just left it in glove box, had to bring it home to charge it which that was a waste of time.
Please if someone could help me out here really want to use the iPod, but if I have to turn it on and off manually then forget it I have no use for it as well as if i need to charge it myself.
Thanks
Thanks

i'm not familiar with how the newer stereos control the Ipod and if it stays powered after the ignition is turned off, but you can check it ....
turn off your ignition - does the Ipod still have the "charging battery icon"? if not, it should be running on its battery and shut off after a few minutes.
