this will be fully functional with the rockfords and i will also get the kiwi wifi and turn the ipad into digital reading gauges for the cars ecu. the volume will be controlled with a bass knob located by the armrest. i will update the weekend on the install.

Looks good so far.. are you planning on integrating a docking connector into the dash piece?

Also, really like the CF Mitsu emblem.. you wrap that yourself?

^yes it will be able to dock and charge the ipad or iphone. the emblem i just bought on ebay and im goin to flush mount it in behind where the ipad sits. so when i take it out you will see it. thanks for the good wishes it will hopefully be installed this weekend just waiting on the painter. lol.

While this does look awesome, it would have looked better if you somehow could have positioned the ipad landscape vs. upright.

You made the connector yourself? What app/software are you going to run on the ipad so it recognizes the obd2 readings?

Looks nice. I really wanted to do this but didnt want to try fabricating it myself.

 

if you want to do this let me know and ill get you one. the wire for making everything work is where the most money is tied up. my buddy is doing all of that. the kit to integrate is like $100 plus the kiwi wifi and wiring for charge port and volume knob. ill give more details when installed and i will post a video.

 

Actually, after seeing another photo that someone posted up in one of BKevoX's threads over in Show & Shine, of a landscape mounted iPad in a Lancer - I think it's gonna look better in portrait.

Mounted horizontally, it just looks like a monstrously oversized navi system.

Ok I'm so doing this. For those of us who have already sold our souls to the iDevil, this is pretty much the ultimate tech mod I can' think of.

 

thank you for the compliments i will update some video giving you a tour of the functions. we added an audio booster to increase the volume because the sound from the factory is low already. there is a couple tricks to make it work with the charging port you have to zip tie the prongs on the sides so you can freely remove the idevices. but the whole wiring scheme my buddy took care of and it work great. plug and play FTW!!!
