Navi dilemma - HELP

Hey guys...

So, just got a 2012 Evo X w/ Navi...however, to get them to the price I wanted - negotiated non-Navi (plus they didn't have any other Evos in stock to offer)...They didn't have the time to swap it out, so I have to go back and get it taken out...

They're charging 2K for the Navi - currently I'm trying to price out what would be similar to the head unit and seeing how much parts (wiring harness/ dash kit/ bypass) are to save on an aftermarket one...

$ is obviously an issue, or else I wouldn't be asking this...If I could afford it I'd shell out the 2K easily...but at this point, I'm in dire straits...

I want to get the stock navi as well but $2,000 + the cost of the piece to hold it.

So its like $2,500 total. They have aftermarket nav systems that are half that price. Just depends if you want the OEM look or not. I would suggest calling around to different audio/stereo places that do these things.

Let me know what you end up doing cuz I'm in the same boat

It's more then just a oem look. The stock navi has a lot of useful features that alot of people don't know about such as lap times, key remote functions, wiper functions, etc.

Yes, I agree - there are other functions you can use like wiper speed/ has a log of oil changes and other kool features as well...

I did opt for aftermarket, but scored a sweet deal on an older model stock navi...so that's another decision in itself...will keep you guys posted!

The one they are charging for is likely the FUSE unit, so that could be worthwhile.
I personally found a used factory nav unit on ebay for 400. Then bought the install kit for 400. Can't beat factory Nav unit for 800 total. Looks perfect.
