Anyone know about the stock audio setup that comes with a new 12 evo mr? I'm a prospective buyer and sound is important to me.

It's not going to be great. The Rockford system is better - but it also is not really spectacular.

Your best bet - go to the dealership with a couple CDs or your iPod and ask to sit in the car and listen to the stereo. They'll let you listen. Then you'll know

 

I just bought a 08 with no RF upgrade and I am very disappointed with sound quality. I am in no way an audio buff but do plan on upgrading the system a bit to round out the system. Probably add a Sub and replace the front speakers/tweeters. Anyone know how easy/hard it is to integrate with a nav non RF?

 

much easier to integrate with non rf system since it will be aftermarket friendly. It is a lot more headache with rf system due to it using a digital amplifier and using digital signal to turn on.

Not impossible with rf system upgrade but I had to use a converter for front speakers, one for rear, and one more to turn on my aftermarket amp. You should have much easier time without factory rf upgrade.

 

RF upgrade can't be worth it if I haven't heard anyone raving about it! Sound is incredibly important to me so it looks like I will be going stock and then taking it to someone who can really hook it up. How are you supposed to drive fast without techno pumping?

 

Rf upgrade is just better with addition of subwoofer and louder. Other than that it sounds better to do the same aftermarket.

 

Stock system sucks. Not clear or loud enofth with the windows down while driving.

 

Even rf upgrade was found lacking and not clear enough, just acceptable. But to me it lacked substance. I'm telling you out of the whole rockford fosgate system upgrade, only the subwoofer is decent but the speakers ares till garbage. The subwoofer just makes everything that much better.

 

That's no good, if anyone knows of anyone in the cleveland or chicago area who does a good job with sound let me know.
