2008 MR stock speaker ?

My speakers work great when on Radio, but not on CD.

When I put in an MP3 cd the speakers worked fine and out of the blue while driving down the road all of the driverside speakers went out. So now it only plays out of the passenger side speakers while listening to a CD, but once I switch back to radio all of the speakers work perfect.

Any ideas as to what is going on? Thanks.

It's the radio, I had the same problem with my 2008. If you still have any of your 30k warranty left, take it to the dealership and they'll replace it. Otherwise, start hunting around in the classifieds or looking for an aftermarket deck.

Yea I'm at just under 41k so I'm not under warranty anymore. So it's the actual stock Head Unit that is bad? Any idea what causes that?

Weak sodder points that give out to too much vibration. Hard to locate poor connecting point.

Oh ok, thanks for more of a detailed explanation. Much appreciated. Looks like I'll just have to go with an after market HU. I'd like a nice touch screen with iPhone connectivity via Bluetooth that mirrors so I can play videos on my phone and they will work on my HU. Plus, all of the music capabilities and app accessibility.

Any ideas?

I believe the radio and cd player operate on independent circuits, it's always the cd player that fails as far as I know.

As for an in-dash dvd/nav deck, I run an Alpine INA-W900 and absolutely love it.

Looks nice man! I'm looking for everything but the Nav...just bc I don't need it bc I have my iPhone maps to use and it makes the head unit so much more in price.

happens to me too.. 2008 MR..

it happens when i hit a bump or holes that cause the car vibrate/shakes heavily, at first I thought it was the CD reading device(laser mechanism) inside has moved little bit because of the shock and causing the laser to read the disc in a wrong spot therefor the sound is only in 1 channel either left or right. Of course there is no issue with radios.

Never thought is was the circuit.
