In-dash carputer + audio build
Have you thought of doing anything like AutoNet with this as well? http://autonetmobile.com/
It depends on the generation of the Mac Minis. If the main board is 6.9" x 6.9" or less, I am sure it could be custom mounted into the enclosure. I believe the original Mac Minis were about 6.5" x 6.5", so one of those would probably work, but the newer ones are around 7.7" x 7.7". Also, the Mac Mini main boards do not use a standard ATX power connector, but instead have integrated power supplies. You would have to come up with some other "smart power supply" solution instead of the M2-ATX.
Thanks! I will definitely hit you up if I have any questions!

For the time being, I am not going to be doing navigation. I just don't use it enough to justify spending the money for the receiver and maps. Although, Centrafuse Auto (which I will be using as the front-end) has built in support for navigation and also many plugins from other GPS manufacturers, so I may add this in the future.

this is awesome! I've been looking into carputer setups for a while and this is exactly what I want to do.
Very curious about how you will switch between centrafuse for entertainment and evoscan for the gauges as well as details about the navigation and other functions.
Is there bluetooth, would be sweet you could tether to iPhone for internet connection and integrate some other things like harry's lap timer.
If you made these as a complete plug n play with connection to the stock speakers I'd be all over it.

^^ I came up wiht $714, not including miscellaneous wiring. This includes everything the OP has listed for the dash unit itself, the GPS antenna, the navi version of centrafuse, and a 100GB SSD instead of 60GB.
