Lincense Plate Bulb (White not bluish)

I just bought a set of white LED license plate bulbs. I'm not sure why they look like 6000k though. Is it because the white light refecting on our black diffuser makes it look bluish?

I really want a true 5000k white look. Any of you experiencing this problem?

Thanks,

I always start with dim and work up from there to keep this from happening.

Mine looks similar to yours; however, mine looks a bit more bluish. It is more 6000k. I want a 5000k look. How come it looks like your car does not have the diffuser?

Thanks

I tried to some more research on the topic and it seems like there is a cool blue, cool white, etc.

I think I am looking for a soft white 5000k. I want it to look like the ones that come on the new cars (Audi, Lexus, etc).

Thanks,

I don't mind mine just the glowing the street looks bright sometimes. I think every manufacture is different just like with HID's.

I darkened the picture to bring out more of the color of the license plate lights but I do have a diffuser

Yeah man I have the same exact problem! It's a little thing but bugs me haha. I been through like 4 sets of LEDs in the back from "warm white" (too yellow) to 5000k and 6000k and for some reason it just doesn't look how I want (OEM). I just gave up and am running the closest to white I found but there still a tad blueish for my taste.

You just need to find the right temperature and then find a bank of LEDs with less SMDs.

Sounds easy when you put it like that haha but in my case the problem is the inconsistencies of manufacturers. I'm sure someone makes what I'm lookin for but I gave up for now lol. Apparently I need something between 4300k and 5000k from the LEDs I tried.

I just used superbrightleds dot com for all of the LEDs in my IX. I started with the cheapest ones and stepped them up until I got the look I wanted.

Good luck!
