Power source?
Power source?
Hey guys I need some help. I am installing some drl fog lights. I am trying to get a power source to tap into. The only thing I can think of is the alternator where it has power when the ignition is on, any others that's accessible in the engine ba?

DRL foglights... as in foglights that turn on as daytime running lights? I dont know what you are planning on doing, but if you are looking to tap for power for fog lights, i highly suggest a relay. Running the lights directly through a switch can cause said switch to burn out, or worse start a fire. If i was trying to have fog lights on with ignition power, i would test for a fuse under the hood that has no power when the car is off, then test with the key on for power. Which one is not going to matter, as it will be used for a signal only. Put a fuse tap on that fuse and run it to your relay (switch terminal). Next, run a wire (i would use 12 gauge) from battery to Relay power in terminal. Then run a wire from Relay ground, to a good ground on the car. Then you run a 12 gauge wire from relay power out, to power in on your lights. Lastly you ground your fog lights. Use a standard 30/40a 5 prong relay. I stock CB12650, which is all you need. I only am suggesting 12 gauge wire for best efficiency. I hope this helps man.
