oh man, just put an aftermarket amp in for $75 bucks. That harness runs up to the dash and if I recall its a few hundred bucks and a nightmare to install...

I'm dealing with a similar issue I'm going to put and aftermarket deck in in the next week or 2 if we're talking about the same thing you have 2 options. Dealership told me they don't sell individual parts from the audio end you have to buy it as a whole( $800) or do an aftermarket replacement of everything and speakers and all. i was told the door speakers run 2 ohms and will blow using an ordinary amp. call your local sound shop hey can give you better details or you can give me a shout with a ? I've been through the whole stereo aspect these last 2 weeks 804-824-3010 hope this helps the guy I got most of my info from showed me a link to a diagram of the oem amp wiring on here but its a pain I have a hard copy that ill post if I can find it. Believe it's somewhere under the Evo 10 forums for audio

nonsense, you can use any aftermarket deck with the Metra MIT-02 interface and it will be fine.

This is partially true. Any harness will work unless he has the Rockford fosgate setup that came as an option. If so, there many thing tied into the oem harnesses on the amp that require several cross overs and jumpers. I've been speaking with a gent from a well known shop that has an Evo x that has shown me all this. I'm just repeating what I've been told and partially experienced.

the MITO-02 is the Metra Rockford Fosgate amplifier module. It translates an aftermarket head unit's signal to something the factory Rockford amp understands, and keeps the crossovers and all that effective. It's a slick device, I ran it in two of my X's and one in hollywood's

Exactly. I'm ordering mine next week for my pioneer install. Unfortunately, likes problem is on the other end.

Honestly Luke you still have some light at the end of the tunnel for the amp harness. After reviewing your pic a little more, and even though the wires are so short, in the harness plug itself there are individual connectors I guess you can call them, on the end of each wire. Each of these should just be held in the harness by I clip like bent piece on those connectors. Carefully press these down with a small pc flat head and they should simply slide right out giving you plenty of room to extend the old wires with butt splices or just put the old connectors on new wires. It's pretty simple and if I get a chance ill puts some examples up with some old pc parts or something.

Hope this helps

i have the mr with rockford fosgate setup, put a alpine deck with the converter but it would not let me control the sub separately, and fader not working right,

it was too many speakers for the converter

so bought a 5 channel alpine amp, took out the old amp put new one in same size and reused the factory speaker wires(found pic on the net), just ran 3x rca cables and a amp turn on cable to easy

just needed filter on the amp in the rca sub line for a slight hum.

standard speakers sound great

Installed my metra 2 weeks ago sounds pretty good but the bass and treble knobs are very picky. Doesn't have room for tweeters like Torana stated but all in all pretty good. I have everything to throw another 10 in ran independently so I as well am going to get a converter, tie into the factory sub and run a normal sub and amp right along the factory setup. Hopefully and theroretically there shouldn't be any problems.
