Soo I just purchased an 08 gsr with no nav and I wanted to purchase one as soon as possible, I'm looking for the oem nav because I heard aftermarket navs aren't too great, I've searched all forums for the oem navs but can't it, anyone know where I can find them for sale for a good price or is anyone selling one? Thanks guys!

 

You can get hit hard for one at the dealer or just watch the for sale threads. They pop up every now and then. I have the nav and love it! The music harddrive is a pretty nice feature built into it.

 

I have LOTS of experience with both the factory and the aftermarket solutions for getting nav into an evo. I prefer the kenwood DNX series of nav units over anything else because of garmin maps. And then there is the better audio quality, tiltable screen (+reverse tilt on higher end models) and the idatalink capability (for showing real time gauges on screen). I see the appeal of an oem nav piece, just too many compromises for me.

 

That's true. Aftermarket nav units are so much more capable!
