I just ordered the AI dash kit to install my Pioneer AVH-P4100DVD into my 2009 GTS and was wondering do I really need the 8701A168 bracket? I have it ordered just in-case but seems confusing because some sites do say you need it and I have seen pictures of the brackets that mount to the 6 disc and was wondering if those could be used instead.

Just want to know if I spent 55 USD from mitsubishiparts.net for nothing because shipping is damn expensive to Canada.

The OEM brackets/radio are 'standard' - so I re-used my brackets on my Pioneer AppRadio2. I used a wiring interface, PAC-SWI steering wheel control interface and just a double-din dashkit.

I say try without it first...

Well I already ordered it before I asked this because I saw that 6 disc owners needed it but I took a look at the images of the 6 disc and saw a bracket so I guess I should have waited till all my parts arrive and try it so I wouldn't be out 70 CAD (OUCH).

Thanks for the reply, I had figured this one was not needed so I sent a reply asking to cancel and refund my order before it gets shipped out.
