Hey guys, new here, first post actually. I'm in the market for an AFR gauge that isn't an AEM. Read that the Prosport is a terrible gauge, that Defi doesn't make a wideband and that that the Innovate G3 gauge (don't really love MTX) isn't any good either (as per Amazon reviews.) This basically leaves me with the Tanabe but there is one option I need.... a warning light....or some other means of an alert when I'm over a limit. I couldn't find anything on the Tanabe website stating whether it does or doesn't. Does anyone know if the Tanabe has such a function?

Thanks,
JJ

To my knowledge it does not.

For a warning light with the wideband it would have to take into account the boost and RPM. I don't know that a tool exists such as this without going to an aftermarket ECU. In case you were not aware, your afr during driving can swing from full lean depending on the situation to as rich as the car is tuned at part/full throttle.

Asides from what Evo846 mentioned since pretty much every time your coasting without your foot on the throttle you'd be setting it off anyway. Does the outer ring color of most are gauges not count? I mean if your in the red that's practically an indicator right?

I was not aware. You guys are right...After my last post I watched several videos of wideband gauges and realized that since the reading would swing into the red whenever not on the throttle a warning light would be useless (and pretty damn annoying) on a wideband.

How about the other gauges? For the other gauges (oil, boost, water etc) Prosport, Innovate, Defi offer warning lights. Does Tanabe? I've got the Ortiz dual pod on its way and I'd like to install both AFR and boost from the same company. I know AEM is the best but as someone else here said they just look like a 1990's alarm clock. Ha!

Thanks for the responses guys!

Np man, that's what the community is for. Asides the wideband the the other tanabe gauges I own are the oil pressure and the boost. Theu have an outer ring as well but those are just solid blue and not color coded so prolly not what you're looking for. As for the gauge looks yeah I agree. I was gonna go the combo AFR boost gauge and ended up going with the tanabe strictly for the looks. They look amazing in my opinion. Hell Ortiz custom pods has been using my install pic as his advertising in the evo buy/sell/trade groups and I found it hilarious when he was advertising this pillar pods and they told him to stfu about the pods and tell them what gauges were installed lol
